Editorial Review for Vic's Kangaroo Cafe – by Kevin Moreau
The Scene
Like many of its neighbors in the aptly named Warehouse District, this increasingly popular destination was once (what else?) a warehouse. These days, it's an Australian-themed neighborhood pub amid the upper-middle-class bustle of an area filled with hotels, bars and Emeril Lagasse-owned restaurants. You won't see Emeril here, but Vic's does boast a friendly staff serving up tasty sandwiches featuring slow-roasted meats for maximum flavor.
The Draw
As you might expect, it's a haven for serious beer enthusiasts, boasting 14 beers on tap as well as an assortment of Australian wines. Shepherd's pie and barbecue pork sandwiches are pub-food delights. Vegetarians will appreciate the spicy black bean burger. An array of daily specials is apt to include such favorites as red beans and rice, sandwiches and pasta dishes.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasYou won't find Australian music here, but you will find high-end local blues and R&B from the likes of Bryan Lee and Amy and the Hank Sinatras.
ParkingGood spots are scarce as the evening wears on, but the Down Under decor, food and decent music are worth the legwork.
