HOB is the best, I had a wondful time there. yes the drinks might be a little high but it is worth it. and the food is to die for. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED it, and yes you should try it out and see for yourself. It is for all ages and yes everywhere you go in New Orleans you have to have a picture ID so dont forget it because trust me when they tell you, you can't go in because you dont have it you might as well just go back to your vehcile and get it because you will regret it if you dont, so have fun and enjoy New Orleans while you can because you cant get enough of it!!!!

The house of blues had a really delicious shrimp poorboy! I recommend you try it. I was impressed with the many legends of blues singers encased in glass on the ceiling. The gospel brunch was very loud, if you go on sunday for lunch you might as well join them. Its like the noisy party next door, your not going to sleep anyway so join it. The beer was way to expensive(3.75 for budweiser longneck). Drink elsewhere, but the food is alright.
Pros: good food, trendy blues art, attractive scenery
Cons: Expensive beer, Loud

House of blues sucks. Unless you like paying $3.50 for domestic bottles (i.e. bud light), and excessive ticket prices. The ONLY thing they have going is that they are big enough to draw larger bands than some place like the Howlin' Wolf. Or Tipitina's.

HOB has to be the worst music venue in the city. It caters to tourists who have no desire to experience the true culture New Orleans has to offer. A night at the HOB is like a trip to Disney World, from waiting in lines to be searched before entry to the fake "folk" decorating and pricey drinks. Employees wear uniforms and McDonald's type drive thru head gear. Do yourself a favor a find a real New Orleans establishment with real people and smiling faces dancing their feet off. It will save you money and make your trip to New Orleans one of the best experiences of your life.
Pros: Big name performers, Good sound system
Cons: Artificial, Unfriendly, Expensive

This was my mom's b-day gift and it was fantastic. Great food(all you can eat) great show. I recommend it to everyone!!!! The seats are great...the price is very reasonable... you HAVE to try the Champagne Mimmosas. It was fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: good price, good food, good show/service

Yeah the House of Blues security team is a little whacked out, but a corporation tries to cover their tales on any situation in this day and age of law suits. What I really dig is their dinner line. If I go to a show which is sold out, what I do is eat in the restaurant during the day. Since you are spending so much money in the House they give you a special line to stand in. This is the dinner line that gets let in first, which gives you first crack at the best spots in the House.
Pros: great parking, cool bartenders, diverse music
Cons: crowded, hot and sweaty, expensive drinks

HOB is the place to go for a laid-back, fun night out. From the food to the great music, there is nothing not to like about it! 5 stars!
Pros: Diverse Atmosphere, Fun for all ages!

In a city like this, HOB holds no charm but big shows may frequent the (only) downtown location. Nothing is wrong with it other than there's too much competition but it has all the modern amenities of big(ger) city venues.
