Dear Mayor Nagin, Being a New Orleans boy from way back, I feel it is my duty to return to the city that time forgot. After witnessing 9/11 first hand and traveling the world working with every known race, creed, color and religious aspect, I know where my heart lay and it is New Orleans. My career has taken me to the Middle East, Asia, Europe and even Eastern Europe to learn, grow and become a more compassionate person for my fellow man. My energies have been devoted to educational outreach programs and even redesigning curriculums for schools with out-dated learning tools. It’s time I use this energy and talent for my New Orleans. These are not easy times for you I know and help is needed in every area to promote a positive attitude and get New Orleans not only on its’ feet but make sure that when standing, it stands in a new light. With my vast background in promotion, presentation and almost evangelistic feel for the history, architecture, frivolity and food of your great city I am offering my service to move back and work closely with you, your staff and pull New Orleans up by its’ boot-straps and regain the popularity of a place that is far too unique in America to let it vanish due to unfortunate circumstances. It can be done. By appealing to such people as myself to get behind this worthy cause and push hard. I too am tired of the belly-aching masses and want to put their strong backs where their mouth is. There is a great deal of energy wasted with the naysayers of the city, it’s time to harness that energy and put it to good use. It’s not that God is mad at the city, it’s just that this was a great reminder of what we have and cherish can be lost if we are not careful. History has proved that New Orleans is tough and will return once again. I want to help. Looking forward to hearing from you, Patrick Darby McClintock
